About Me

Chanda Drummond

My name is Chanda and I am the owner/founder of Femme Lune - my passion project and business endeavor that marries my love for floristry, my passion for holistic healing, and my personal desire to surround myself with a community that I can feel safe with and inspired by. My name is a Sanskrit word meaning “the moon”, which I’ve always found fitting as someone who has been in awe of the majesty of the moon since I was a little girl. The name Femme Lune translates to “Moon Woman” in French and it became the name I chose to represent my work while in Paris, France in 2018.

I am a mom to three beautifully clever and curious children, and lucky-in-love with my husband who is a touring musician and entrepreneur. Our life as a family started very quickly, as we became young parents after just one year of dating and soon learned that this first child of ours would become our biggest teacher and guiding light.

With my husband’s band we traveled the country (47 states to be exact) and beyond (Ireland, France, Canada and the Caribbean) with this little lady in tow for three years, from 2016-2019. I blogged about our life on the road during that time which I found to be a therapeutic form of expression and a means to connect with loved ones back home. Being a young mom traveling with five men and a baby with no community felt lonely and blogging helped fill that gap a bit for me. Navigating life with a constantly changing environment played a pivotal role in the woman I was becoming, even if I didn’t realize it at the time.

Following the birth of our second little lady in 2019, we decided that the time had come for our girls and I to settle into a life at home and lay down some roots. While Burleigh continued to tour, I started to lean into the world of floristry. Arranging flowers and experimenting with different textures and colors was something I had done since childhood, only now I liked the idea of doing it more seriously. A few weeks into the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, I offered “Joy in a Jar” flower arrangements in mason jars as a simple way for people in my community to send some joy to a loved one they were separated from. To my surprise, we did 103 deliveries in 3 days, all across Ventura County, and I am fortunate to say that a large number of those patrons became loyal customers of my growing floral design business in the years following the pandemic.

One more child and so many more adventures and life lessons later, in the Autumn of 2025, I found myself at a crossroads. Another pivotal moment in my life where I felt so close, yet still so out of touch, with finding my true self. I had 18+ years of experience working in the restaurant and hospitality industry and almost six years of floristry work under my belt. Neither brought me inspiration in that moment and I knew I couldn't walk backwards, I had to do something different. My family seemed to be surrounded by a cloud of beautiful chaos but needing direction. I had just turned 34 and was feeling out of touch with myself and craving a page to turn.

For years the idea of massage therapy was always embedded in my heart and psyche. My grandma was a massage therapist when I was a child and I have core memories of the smell of lavender coming from her massage room, dipping my fingertips in the warm massage oils, and making silly faces with my brother from under the face cradle. I contemplated the idea countless times over the years, but finally it all clicked into place. Going back to school to study massage therapy and the holistic healing practices that surround it was one of the most profound decisions I could have made and has helped me grow and glow in ways I could not have foreseen.

Marrying all of my passions into one cohesive entity that I can use to share with the people around me brings an abundance of joy and excitement to my life and I feel really blessed to be here.
